Kings Park Student Qualifies as National Merit Semifinalist

Mayuri Sridhar has qualified to become a National Merit Semifinalist.

Kings Park High School student Mayuri Sridhar has qualified to become a National Merit Semifinalist in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program. More than 1.5 million high school juniors nationwide took the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test in October 2011. Of this number, the top one half of one percent qualifies to become semifinalists. 15,000 of the highest performers were recently designated Semifinalists.

Semifinalists are the highest scorers in each of the 50 states and represent less than one percent of each state’s high school seniors. They will be competing for 8,400 National Merit Scholarships that will be offered next spring.
