Kings Park Cancels Classes on Wednesday

Kings Park students will rejoice to find out they have a snow day on Wednesday. 

Kings Park Central School District announced all schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22 due to heavy snowfall blanketing the Kings Park area Tuesday into Wednesday, according to its website.  All after-school and evening activities are canceled. 

Forecasters with the National Weather Service have declared a winter storm warning for Long Island as between 8 and 12 inches of snow are predicted, with snow falling at a rate of one to two inches per hour into the late evening on Tuesday.

Kings Park Central School District will be open on May 23 in order to make up the school day. 

As result of the district's closure, St. Joseph's School of Religion will also be closed on Wednesday.
