Kings Park Schools Announce Plans to Reorganize Its Central Office

Kings Park Central School District is looking to hire an assistant superintendent of personnel and administrative services.

Kings Park School officials have announced plans to reorganize its central offices changing the titles and responsibilities of its assistant superintendents.

A statement posted on Kings Park Central School District's website on Friday morning reads, "To provide more support to our schools in curriculum and instruction, the district is reorganizing central office staff."

The district says the reorganization of its central offices will have the same number of positions it currently does, but will result in a change of titles and job duties.

The assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and personnel position -  currently filled by Dr. Ralph Cartisano - will shift to a shorter title as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction.

The assistant superintendent of finance and administration - a position currently filled by Dr. Philip Kenter - will be retitled as the assistant superintendent of personnel and student services.

Lastly, the central office position of director of administrative services - currently filled by Shannon Meehan - will become a school business official.

Kings Park school officials announced, "As a result of these changes, the district is advertising for an Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Administrative Services. This is not an additional position,' on their website.

It is not clear what will happen to Kenter and whether he will be making transition to the new role, shifting to a different position serving the district or stepping down.

The reorganization of district's centrals offices was not discussed at the Kings Park Board of Education meeting on Tuesday night.
