Kings Park High School Heads to Quarter Finals of Quiz Game Show

Team will take on Riverhead High School on April 29 in MSG quiz show, The Challenge.

Kings Park High School has moved on to the Regional Quarter Finals of MSG Varsity’s, “The Challenge”, and will take on Riverhead High School on April 29.

Kings Park High School is joined by seven other schools from Suffolk County, as they head into Regional Quarter-Final play, while trying to qualify for the Tri-State Championship Playoffs.

“The action is really heating up as we progress to the final rounds of the Regional Championships,” said show host Jared Cotter.  “You can see the intensity of the player’s faces and excitement of the fans building as we move on   in the competition.”  

This year's KPHS team is represented by: Zak Marcone, Joseph Gargiulo (Captain), Michael Adams, Mayuri Sridhar, and (alternates) Eliza Swieczkowski and Justin Barish. The academic advisor is Robert Celeste.

'The Challenge' is in its 16th year of airing, and consists of 32 teams in Suffolk County and close to 200 across the tri-state area competing for $10,000 for their school, and individual prized of $500 each. The winner of each region earns $2,500 prizes for their schools. Last year's team advanced to the semi-final in the Suffolk region before being ousted by East Islip.

The show can be seen at 6:30 p.m. on Cablevision’s Optimum, Channel 14.
