Grant Will Fund Electronic Signs for 2 KP Schools

District plans to use a grant from Sen. Flanagan to purchase electric signs.

Part of a $50,000 grant secured by the Kings Park School District through state Sen. John Flanagan will be used to purchase electronic outdoor signs for two Kings Park schools.

District Superintendent, Susan Agruso announced at the board of education meeting Tuesday night that Kings Park High School and William T. Rogers Middle School would be getting electronic outdoor signs.

Board trustee, Tom Locascio, reached out to the Flanagan regarding the grant. Locascio has been instrumental in securing two other grants for the district; $75,000 used towards computer labs and an $85,000 grant used for a new press box, not yet installed, at the high school fields.

Locascio said the cost of the sign has not yet been finalized and efforts are being made to look into donations for any brickwork associated with the sign.
