IS PROUD TO SPONSOR A FREE PARENTING WORKSHOP PRESENTED BY THE SMITHTOWN YOUTH BUREAU


THE STEP PROGRAM


Systematic Training for Effective Parenting of Children Under Six, provides a clear set of positive parenting skills and strategies that can be used immediately to address a variety of child-rearing challenges and problems. Parents who attend the training will learn about these topics:

• Building Self-Esteem in the Early Years
• Communicating with Young Children
• Helping Young Children Learn to Cooperate
• Effective Discipline
• Nurturing Emotional & Social Development


This five week workshop will be held on Tuesdays, May 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Mary DeRose Parent Resource Center located at 180 Lawrence Road, Kings Park. Attendees should go to entrance in rear of building.
