Bueno! 16 Students Honored for Spanish Studies

Kings Park High School students medal for their achievements.

Students from Kings Park High School earned a total of two gold, two silver and six bronze medals along with 16 honorable mentions.

“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams. 

According to Cessna-Buscemi, the exams are the largest of their kind with over 156,000 students in America participating this year.

Spanish teachers, Mrs. Mathie, Mrs. Buurma, Mrs. Catalanotto and Mrs. Cisternino have helped to continue the school's legacy of high performance in Spanish studies. 

The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 6 through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
