4 Local Athletes Qualify for NYS Championships

Students will represent Kings Park in winter track and wrestling.

Four Kings Park High School Student-Athletes have qualified for the New York State Championships in their respective sports for the 2012-13 Winter Season.

 In winter track, seniors Luke Toscano and Kathleen Naeher will represent Kings Park and Section XI at the New York State Track and Field Championships to be held at Cornell University on March 2. Toscano qualified in the shot put while Naeher will make her third straight appearance at the State Championships running as part of the Section XI Relay Team.

 In wrestling junior Nick Weber has received an at large bid to the New York State Wrestling Championships to be held this weekend in Albany. Weber received his bid after finishing second in the Suffolk County Wrestling Championships this past week at 195 pounds. Also qualifying for the States at 138 pounds is senior Tom Venier. Venier will represent Kings Park and Suffolk County as an alternate after also finishing second at the County Championships.
