Section of 25A Part of $60 Million State Road Repair Project

State Route 25A will be resurfaced from Bread and Cheese Hollow Road to Sunken Meadow State Parkway.

A section of State Route 25A in Smithtown is slated for resurfacing as part of a $60 million road and bridge repair project beginning this summer.

The repairs, part of the NY Works program announced on April 3 by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, will include resurfacing State Route 25A from Bread and Cheese Hollow Road to Sunken Meadow State Parkway.

According to Newsday, three contracts, including the one for Smithtown will be bid June 7 and awarded June 30.  The remaining two bids include work for road surface repairs east and westbound on the Long island Expressway between Exit 68 and 73 and resurfacing the Meadowbrook State Parkway from Merrick Road north to the Southern State Parkway.

According to the report, the work, as required by contracts, will be conducted mostly at night.
