New York's 2nd Senate District covers all communities in the Town of Smithtown, including Smithtown, St. James, Nesconset, Village of the Branch, Head of the Harbor, Nissequogue and parts of Commack and Kings Park. The district also covers areas in Northport, in the Town of Huntington, and areas in the Town of Brookhaven including Stony Brook, Setauket and Lake Grove.

- Erron Toulon, Democrat, (Though his name will be on the ballot, he has since decided to take a job with Suffolk County)
