I would like to wish you and your readers a very Happy and Healthy New Year. The past twelve months have been some of the most productive in recent memory for New York State and I look forward to building on those accomplishments in 2012. From cutting the income tax rate for every resident to ending to the job-killing MTA Payroll Tax for almost 80 percent of the businesses that currently pay it, this year was a success by any measure.
That said, we know that much more remains to be done in the coming year and I welcome the input of all of your readers to help in making New York State the best it can be. As always, I invite your readers to contact me by either emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling my office at 631-361-2154 if they have any thoughts or comments on our state or if my office can provide them with any assistance.
To make it easier for your readers to share their ideas in person, I have organized three Town Hall meetings beginning at the end of January at locations throughout the district and welcome all residents to join me at these important discussions. Those who are interested should visit my web site a flanagan.nysenate.gov for more information and directions.
The next twelve months promise to be a great opportunity to build on the successes of 2011 and I look forward to working with our community to make things better on Long Island and improve our quality of life.
But before we start that process, I simply want to wish to you and all of your readers a very happy and healthy New Year and all the best in 2012.
New York State Senator, 2nd District
