Kings Park Residents Head to the Polls on Tuesday

Your guide to what you need to know before heading out to cast your vote.

Smithtown residents will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their vote to decide their local town and county leaders.

Voters will cast their ballot for their choice of elected officials including Smithtown town supervisor, town board, superintendent of highways and county legislators.

A complete guide to today's elections including the candidates and their party affiliations for theTown of Smithtown can be found here. A full guide to the Suffolk County Legislature's candidates and party affiliations can be found here.

Voters should be aware that their Suffolk legislative district may be different this year from their district in year's past. Under the 2010 U.S. Census, the legislature redrew the district lines, which affects those living in the 12th and 13th legislative districts.

Those with questions regarding who their candidates are and what new district their home falls in, contact Suffolk County Board of Elections by calling 631-852-4500 on Tuesday.

In addition to selecting elected officials, voters will be casting their ballot on several referendums including: whether the state should set up 7 more New York State casinos or whether the retirement age should be raised for judges.
