UPDATED: 25A Reopens in Fort Salonga After Single-Car Accident

Roadway has been shut down since 5:40 p.m.

Suffolk County police closed down a portion of Route 25A in Fort Salonga following a single-car accident on Monday evening. 

Police said they received a 911 call at 5:43 p.m. reporting a driver lost control of their vehicle, crashing into a utility pole on Fort Salonga Road/Route 25A ,closest to Soundview Drive intersection. 

Police have shut down Route 25A/Fort Salonga road in both directions from Soundview Drive to Concord Drive and it remains closed as of 6:22 p.m.

An ambulance has been called to the scene of the accident, but it is not known whether the driver was injured or to what extent, according to police. 

PSEG has been called to the scene to fix and/or replace a damaged utility pole. The utility company's online outage map is not showing any loss of power in the immediate area.

I wouldn't necessarily say that Stevo, many people get into car accidents and aren't texting. Sure that's what a lot of teens are doing now but it doesn't mean everyone is and it's a little judgmental of you to say that.
