Man Punches Paramedic Trying to Treat Him After Bar Fight

Man assaulted during bar fight punches paramedic sent to assist him.

A 21-year-old Brentwood man quickly went from being a victim to being in handcuffs.
The man was being treated for injuries he received during an assault in a Smithtown bar when he punched a paramedic who was treating him, Suffolk County police said. 

The 21-year-old was at Halo Lounge on West Main Street on Aug. 2 at about 3:30 a.m when he was reportedly assaulted. The paramedic was trying to help him, when the victim punched him in the face. 

Police did not have any information on who it was in the initial incident.

The man was arrested on a charge of obstructing emergency medical service, which is a misdemeanor.
