Fire Destroys Kings Park Home

No serious injuries reported, though the home suffered extensive damage.

An early morning fire on  broke out on Dec. 23 in a Kings Park home. No one was injured and fire officials have not yet determined a cause for the fire. 

The t responded to the 2:15am call at 101 Twin Oaks Drive and was on the scene within a few minutes according to Fire Chief Greg Fagan. The Commack Fire Department provided a fast truck while the Smithtown Fire Department was on stand by.

"There was a good amount of fire on arrival," said Fagan. Everyone in the house was able to get out safely. One person was sent to St. Catherine's Hospital for an ankle injury," he said.

According to Fagan, the fire took about 45 minutes to get under control and began in an area outside of the home.

The arson squad has been called in to investigate.
