Fire Destroys Home on Primrose Lane

According to Ed Goutink of the Kings Park Fire Department, more than 60 fire fighters were on scene at the two-story colonial on Primrose Lane, which began sometime after midnight. The fire, which started in a bedroom, spread to the upper floor.

Several calls were placed to the fire department from neighbors who reported seeing flames coming from the rear windows.

KPFD responded with several trucks as well as all four chiefs. Surrounding companies provided support including Smithtown, Commack, Northport and East Northport. Two fire fighters sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene. All occupants of the home were able to escape without injury. The fire was placed under control at 1:21 a.m.

“Considering the smoke and water damage, it was extensive,” said Goutink.

The Kings Park Fire Department received several calls from surrounding neighbors who could see flames coming from the rear window of the home. 

The Suffolk County Arson Squad is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
