Crimes Nearby: Teen Arrested in Bagel Cafe Burglary

Smithtown

Police said they found the man who burglarized a Nesconset Bagel Store last week.   

According to police, Mantas Lukosevicius, 17, broke through the side door of the Bagel Café, located at 248 Smithtown Blvd. on May 27 at approximately 12:30 a.m.

He forced open the office door and stole a large amount of cash, police said. According to police security camera footage showed Lukosevicius then fled on a small purple mountain bike, wearing a black coat, black gloves and a black backpack with a wooden handle sticking out of the backpack.

Lukosevicius was a part-time employee at the bagel store and was familiar with where cash was kept, police said. Fourth Squad detectives arrested Lukosevicius on a charge of third-degree burglary, a felony, at his Ronkonkoma home Monday at 11:55 p.m.
