Crimes Nearby: Pair Charged With St. James Burglaries

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County police reported the following information:

Commack

Joseph Scappatore, 19, of East Northport was arrested Jan. 21 in Commack and charged with first offense DWI. He was stopped after allegedly making an unsafe turn in a 2009 Chevrolet on Rt. 25 at 2 a.m.

Devine Ross, 25, of Deer Park was arrested Jan. 20 in Commack and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Ross was stopped for speeding while driving eastbound on Rt. 25 at 3:20 a.m.

Smithtown

William Jasen, 26, of Smithtown was arrested Jan. 21 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state he was stopped for speeding in a 2012 Volkswagon while travelling westbound on Rt. 25 at 1:05 a.m.

William Moseley, Jr., 31, of Wyandanch was arrested Jan. 21 in Smithtown and charged with operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs. He allegedly failed to yield and to maintain his lane at the intersection of Rt. 25 and Old Willets Path.

John Anastasiou, 28, and Jacklyn Lynch, 28, both of St. James, were arrested Jan. 19 and charged with second degree burglary and seventh degree possession of a controlled substance. They are accused of entering a residence on Clover Lane in St. James through a side door on Jan. 17 and stealing a computer and other items. They were allegedly in possession of drugs at the time of their arrest.

Nanette Rossi, 45, of Mastic was arrested Jan. 18 in Smithtown and charged with first offense leaving the scene of an accident with an injury. Rossi was allegedly involved in an accident on Middle Country Road in Lake Grove on May 21 in which another person was injured.

Hauppauge

Andreas Dambakakis, 30, of Nesconset was arrested on Jan. 26  and charged with one count of third-degree robbery for allegedly robbing People's United Bank that morning.

Suffolk County police said a man entered People's United Bank on Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset at 8:41 a.m. Tuesday. The man approached a teller and handed over a note stating he had a gun and wanted cash, instructing the teller to fill his black messenger bag. The man then fled the bank on foot. The exact amount stolen was not disclosed.

Three Village

Stephen Fogarty, 22, was arrested Jan. 23 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with first offense DWI. Fogarty allegedly struck a car parked in a lot on Route 112 at 12:50 a.m.
