Crimes Nearby: Pair Allegedly Robs Lawrence Aviation Warehouse

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Suffolk County police reported the following arrests: 

Port Jefferson

A pair of alleged burglars came from Patchogue to rob an abandoned warehouse at the Lawrence Aviation site at 100 Sheep Pasture Road in Port Jefferson, according to police reports. William Rucker, 20, and Paul Clinton Jr., 20, both of Patchogue, were arrested on July 3 when they were found by police on Catherine Street and Washington Avenue in Port Jefferson Station and charged with 3rd degree burglary. Police say that the two men took property from the building but they did not say what it was.

Hauppauge

 Thomas Ellis, 33, of Hauppauge, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle impaired by drugs on July 3. Ellis was driving on Brooksite Drive and crashed, police said, because of being under the influence of drugs.

Eileen Garcia, 20, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested and charged for first offense DWI on July 1. Police said that Garcia was trying to make a left from Old Nichols road and drove over the curb hitting a fire hydrant. She was arrested on Smithtown Blvd in Nesconset.

Northport

Kristine Vernola, 41, of East Northport was issued an appearance ticket in lieu of arrest on July 7 for multiple vehicle and traffic violations after being involved in a car accident on Scudder Avenue. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs, failure to produce an insurance card, prohibited u-turn, and unreasonable speed.

Police responded to Laurel Avenue regarding a report of possible stalking on July 1 at 2:54 a.m. Upon arrival, they determined that the alleged offender had committed several crimes against the victim at Lorraine Court. The officer remained at the scene until Suffolk Police responded.

A man told police that two men were attempting to break into an apartment on July 1 around 9:30 p.m. The man said that he was returning from doing laundry across the street, when he noticed two unknown males in front of his apartment building looking into his windows and acting suspiciously. When he confronted the men they stated that they were looking for their uncle. He told them that he was going to call the police and they both ran and got into a four-door sedan which drove away. The man was unable to provide any further details and was advised that if he saw the two subjects again, he should notify the police immediately.

Smithtown

Benedetto Gambino, 35, of St. James, was arrested and charged for a first offense DWI on July 7. Gambino was found driving north on Edgewood Avenue over the speed limit and without his headlights on. He was arrested on Landing Avenue.

Vincent Bogdanowich, 30, of East Islip, was arrested for grand larceny charges on July 3. Bogdanowich was found on 6th Avenue with stolen jewlery.

Three Village  

Tara Miller, 41, of Stony Brook, was arrested July 4 at 10:49 p.m. at the corner of Christian Ave. and Lake Ave. in Setauket. According to police, Miller was involved in a motor vehicle crash at West Meadow Beach and fled the scene. Police charged her with first-offense DWI.

On July 6, a resident of Lodge Lane in East Setauket reported that an unknown person smashed the windshield of a 1997 Volkswagon parked in the driveway at about 12:10 a.m.

On July 6, a resident of Montpelier Court in East Setauket reported that an unknown person set off fireworks on the hood of a vehicle parked in the driveway at about 12:30 a.m.
