Crimes Nearby: Nesconset Man Drives Drunk With Toddler in Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Commack

Suffolk County police arrested Christopher Weiss, 29, of Nesconset, Oct. 21 on charges of driving drunk while having his two-year-old son in the car. Weiss is being held on one felony count of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said they received a 911 phone call Friday from a motorist who said he was following a 2002 black Ford Focus that was missing a front tire while traveling eastbound on Route 25 in Huntington. The caller helped Second Precinct police find the vehicle heading southbound on Commack Road near Vanderbilt Parkway at 12:35 p.m.

Officers arriving at the scene determined Weiss, driver of the Ford Focus, was intoxicated. Weiss' two-year-old son was in the back seat of the vehicle, unharmed.

Hitesh Suri, 22, of Wheatley Heights, was stopped by troopers for speeding near the Commack Road exit of the Northern State Parkway at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 20,  according to New York State police.

Police arrested Suri upon discovering he was intoxicated. Suri was escorted to a Brentwood station where he was given a breathalyzer test and gave a reading of .10 percent blood alcohol content, police said.

Suri will be arraigned at Suffolk County First District Court.

Anthony Giambruno, 52, of Glen Cove, was arrested October 17 in Commack and charged with DWI. According to police, Giambruno driving east on Jericho Turnpike at 12:59 a.m.

Michael Loeb, 30, of Hauppauge, was arrested October 17 in Commack and charged with DWI. Police observed Loeb driving a 2007 Nissan south on Harned Road at 12:45 a.m.

Hauppauge

Bianca Cortes, 23, of Nesconset was arrested Oct. 14 on charges of third-degree grand larceny in Lake Grove. Police said while Cortes was working as a cashier at Ulta boutique when she processed phony merchandise returns and kept the cash.

Patrick Sciacchitano, 21, of South Setauket was arrested Oct. 14 on charges of DWI first offense. Sciacchitano was driving a 2001 Kia eastbound on Nesconset Highway at 1:48 a.m when he failed to maintain his lane, crossing over a solid yellow line and almost striking the median, according to police. Officers administered a field sobriety test before arresting Sciacchitano.

Huntington

The TD Bank on Jericho Turnpike was robbed Oct.18 about 5 p.m.

Police gave the following account:

A man entered the bank at 1040 Jericho Turnpike about 5 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash and threatening to use a gun. The teller complied with the demands and the man fled the scene on foot south on Dix Hills Road.

The amount of money taken was not known.

The subject is described as a white male, 6 feet tall and wearing a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, dark sunglasses and a white Nike hat.

Suffolk County Police Major Case Investigations Unit detectives are investigating. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.

Smithtown

Nicholas Flores, 20, of Smithtown was arrested Oct. 19 in Smithtown and charged with false incident reporting. Reports indicate Flores was arrested for the alleged false reporting he was a victim of a robbery. The incident occurred at 77 Veterans Highway, Smithtown.

Matthew Maier, 22, of Smithtown was arrested Oct. 16 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Maier was arrested for the alleged operation of a 1994 Chevrolet station wagon while intoxicated. Reports indicate he was traveling on Stephen Pl., Smithtown at approximately 8:45 a.m.   
Christina Brill, 25, of Miller Place was arrested Oct. 15 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Brill was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2011 Nissan Maxima while intoxicated. Reports indicate she was traveling on Route 25, Smithtown at approximately 2:40 a.m.

James Etheridge, 21, of Stony Brook was arrested Oct. 13 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Etheridge was arrested for the alleged operation of a 1999 Ford Mustang while intoxicated. Reports state the incident occurred on Route 347, Smithtown, at approximately 10:25 p.m.

Anna Burrowes, 25, of Blue Point was arrested Oct. 11 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Burrowes was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2009 Toyota while intoxicated. The report indicates she was traveling on Route 347, Smithtown at approximately 4:32 a.m.

Three Village

Ruben Velez, 26, of East Setauket, was arrested Oct. 20 on Route 25 in Selden and charged with first degree identity theft and third degree grand larceny for allegedly using a stolen identity to obtain a loan.

Christopher Tersigni, 37, of East Setauket, was arrested Oct. 19 on Sheep Pasture Road and charged with second degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and resisting arrest.
