Crimes Nearby: Man Arrested on DWI Charges with 4-Year-Old Daughter in Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

The Suffolk County Police and Suffolk County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests:

Hauppauge

A Brentwood man has been arrested for allegedly violating Leandra’s Law when police said he was recently pulled over for driving drunk with his daughter and wife in the car.

Suffolk County Sheriff's Department arrested Salvatore Silinonte, 30, on one felony charge of driving while intoxicated with his four-year-old daughter in the vehicle and multiple traffic violations on Monday afternoon.

Silinonte was driving a 2007 Honda Pilot eastbound on the Long Island Expressway's South Service Road near the off-ramp for Exit 58 in Islandia. Officers observed him speeding at 60 mph in a 40-mph zone and failing to maintain his lane of travel by crossing over the white shoulder line, according to reports. He was pulled over for a traffic stop with both his wife and four-year-old daughter in the car.

Cops determined Silinonte was intoxicated and he was placed under arrest. He will be arraigned in Central Islip courts on Tuesday.
Child Protection Services were notified and the child was released to her mother, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Smithtown

Kimberly Oquendo, 21, of Bay Shore, was arrested in Smithtown on Oct. 10 on third degree grand larceny charges, a felony. Reports state Oquendo stole a night deposit bag with cash in it.

Danielle Macias, 36, of Ridge, was arrested in Smithtown on Oct. 8 on fourth degree grand larceny of property valued greater than $1,000 charges, a felony. Reports state Macias stole a gold and diamond bracelet.

Port Jefferson

Andrew Zuccaro, 25, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on Oct. 14 in Lake Grove and charged with petty larceny and possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors. Zuccaro allegedly stole jewelry from the J.C. Penney in the Smith Haven mall. When police searched Zuccaro they say that they found a hypodermic needle on him.
