Crimes Nearby: Huntington Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Stepfather

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County and New York State Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Suffolk County and New York State Police Department reported the following arrests.

Huntington

A Huntington man was arrested and charged Saturday in the fatal stabbing of his stepfather, Suffolk County police said.

Matthew Hubrins, 28, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Noel Mohammed, 44.

Police were called to 161 Spring Road, Huntington, at 1:20 a.m. Saturday morning after a caller reported a disturbance to police. Mohammed, who lived in the home, was taken to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to police.

Hauppauge

William P Shine Jr. , 38, of Hauppauge, was charged with driving while intoxicated on June 15 at 3:32 a.m. Police said Shine ws driving without headlights on Sunken Meadow Parkway and pulled over and found to be intoxicated.

Michael Sandella, 47, of Hauppauge, was charged with driving while intoxicated on June 12  at 12:31 p.m. Police said Sandella was observed with the key in the ignition of a Volkswagen Jetta on North Country Road in St. James when he was found to be intoxicated.

Three Village

A man was confronted Saturday night by a trio of men who threw a screwdriver and a filled soda cup at him at approximately 11:55 p.m., according to a police report. Police said three unknown men approached the complainant near the intersection of Belle Meade Road and Technology Drive in East Setauket in a maroon-colored Camaro, threw the screwdriver and soda cup at him, and fled at a high rate of speed. The complainant said he saw them strike a tree at the intersection of Belle Meade Road and Upper Sheep Pasture Road before continuing to drive away. The man was not injured in the incident, which police classified as second-degree harassment.

Daniel Wexler, 27, of Setauket, was arrested June 14 at 3:27 a.m. and charged with first-offense DWI. Police said Wexler was swerving and failed to stop for a stop sign on Gnarled Hollow Road at Old Town Road in Setauket.

Matthew Weiner, 23, of Setauket, was arrested June 13 at his home in Setauket. Charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Police said he was waving a machete. Police also charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance for having prescription pills without a prescription.

Smithtown

Ryan Keenan, 21, of St. James, was arrested on June 14 in Smithtown at 1:21 a.m. on first-offense DWI charges. Reports state Keenan was arrested on Woodlawn Avenue for driving at an excessive speed in a 2008 Lexus on Edgewood Avenue while intoxicated.

Kim Valli, 21, of Franklyn Square, was arrested on June 14 in Smithtown at 1:44 a.m. on first-offense DWI charges. Reports state Valli failed to maintain a proper lane driving westbound on Route 25 by Caleb Smith State Park in a 2000 Taurus.

Lucas Godinho, 27, of Brentwood, was arrested on June 10 in Smithtown at 2:16 a.m. on DWAI alcohol charges. Reports state Godinho was driving southbound on Brooksite Drive in a 2005 Chrysler.
