Car Ignites in Sunken Meadow Beach Parking Lot

Fire on the 4th causes two nearby cars to also ignite.

 

A car burst in to flames in parking field three at Sunken Meadow Beach on Wednesday, igniting two other cars with it, reports Newsday.

According to the report, flames from the car reached 10 feet high and black smoke could be seen from over a mile away.

The Kings Park Fire Department responded with five trucks and were assisted by New York State Police.

The car, a Licoln sedan, was completely destroyed.

Is THIS the explanation for the 2-3 mile traffic jam entering SM park Wednesday (about 12:30).....we were heading south on SM Pkwy and I thought it was just a tie up at the toll booths......but WOW what a tie up !

The fire wasn't until hours after that...there was a tie up on the parkway because so many people wanted to enter the park
