4 Injured in Meadow Road Accident

A car hit a utility pole shortly after midnight on Friday.

Four people were injured when a car overturned and slammed through a utility pole on Meadow Road, just east of Magellan Avenue in Kings Park just after midnight on Friday.

First responders from the Smithtown and Kings Park Fire Departments provided aid to the injured. According to officials at the scene, one person was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center and three others were taken to local hospitals.  

Suffolk County police closed the road to westbound traffic at Magellan after the accident occurred. Police did not say how long the road was closed.

According to police the Long Island Power Authority was contacted to repair the damaged pole and wires.
