Kings Park State Hospital at one time was a chief employer for the area. Many of those employees lived in Kings Park. It was the hub of the town providing not only employment but also a social network and bonds that continued outside hospital walls.
It has been 15 years since it officially closed and a reunion is taking place this Friday at Larkfield Manor.
