On behalf of the Library’s Board of Trustees I want to thank the entire Smithtown community for voting to pass the Library’s 2012 operating budget. This support will allow the Library to continue providing valuable programs, resources and services to the residents of Smithtown.
I’m sure I speak for all of the Library’s Trustees, current and past, when I say that it is a privilege to serve our community as a member of this Board. While we may come from varied backgrounds, we all have one common goal -- to ensure that the library provides a wide array of relevant services to all members of the community, young and old.
In this time of economic uncertainly, we are particularly aware of the need to be discriminating in how funds are used. We strive for transparency in all of the Library’s affairs, and welcome all residents to our meetings to ask the questions, or provide suggestions, regarding the library’s business.
