Mary Ellen Barry, former TWA stewardess and Paralegal, Dies

Mary Ellen Barry, a Kings Park resident, died on Dec. 29, 2013. She was 82. 

Barry was born on Aug. 11, 1931 in Kansas City, MO, Newsday reports. She worked as a secretary to the president of WDAF-TV in Kansas City before becoming a stewardess for TWA airlines and paralegal.  She devoted her life to raising her children and enjoyed traveling the world with her husband.

Barry is pre-deceased by her first husband, Dean Thomas Bowen, and beloved wife of the late late James C. Barry.  She is survive by her children Lisa (Charles) O'Brien, Cheryl Goldsmith (Steve Simmons), Richard (Amy) Barry, Maggie (Joseph) Maggio; and  grandmother of 6.

Her family has asked in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 245 Old Country Road, Melville, NY, 11747.
