Let's call a spade ....a spade.

A friend recently told me her husband has been cheating and has asked her for a divorce.  She said that he must be going through a " mid- life crises."  That is nonsense.  He is not going through anything.  He simply lacks morals, integrity and manly character. Let us stop giving names to bad behavior thus giving it some sort of legitimacy.  Another example, one of which I am very angry about, is the false term " senioritis."  I can not tell you how often I have heard a teacher, a guidance counselor, or even our school principal laughingly use this term in front of students as if this was a legitimate condition rather than a failure of students to live up to their responsibilities.  I have had it with parents and educators accept this poor behavior and shrug their shoulders as if there is nothing that can or should be done about this.  This is nothing but a failure of societal integrity.  Another example is this pathetic Anthony Weiner.  I have heard comments that he is "mental, stupid, retarded, foolish for not knowing he would obviously be caught, sex addict, sick, etc., etc.. No, no, no.  All he is, is a man without a defined set of morals and standards.  Let us call a spade, a spade.  200 years ago, or just choose a point in the distant past, there was a line drawn in the sand that you did not cross without fearing societal shaming.  Fast forward with each successive generation and that line keeps getting moved and crossed.  We are now in a time where the only shame  is the lambasting that an individual will get for actually calling someone out for acting shamefully.  How sad and scary that is.  Let us now see who will crawl out from under their rock and call me out for standing up for morals.
