Updated: Musical Moments, the Sounds of Santana

Abraxas, the Santana tribute band will play Friday evening at Savatt Park.

Update: Free tees will go to a few lucky concert goers to the July 6 show, courtesy of Leteri Waste Managment and Tony Leteri who is the sponsor of the Abraxas show.

Abraxas, the definitive Carlos Santana Tribute Band, will bring Latin rhythms to Russ Savatt Park on Main Street Friday evening at 7:30. The performance is the third event of Musical Moments in Kings Park 2012, a series of free outdoor concerts.

“Abraxas doesn’t just play Santana music, said Carol Kelly, organizer of the concert series, “it recreates it in exquisite detail! Inspired by the incredible intensity of his music, the members of Abraxas share a passion for recreating the electrifying sounds of Carlos Santana. Audiences, have been awed by the authentic sound delivered by Abraxas at its stunning shows.”

Juan Antonio, leader of Abraxas, has been playing and studying Santana’s music since he was 14. Other band members are Erasto Bernard, John Fallon, Willie Huerto, Niles Hughes, Kenny Kearney and Matthew Murphy.

“With Abraxas, it’s all there,” said Kelly, “the propulsive Latin percussion, the fiery lead guitar, and the “groove” that connects to the soul of the audience. You will hear old favorites, as well as recent hits from Supernatural, All that I Am, and Ultimate Santana.

Musical Moments is made possible by sponsorship from the Kings Park Civic Association, the Kings Park Chamber of Commerce and the local business community.

Apparently you are not the only one this is happening to. From what I understand if these signs areRead More on a main drag somehow they are disappearing in the middle of the night. Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!
