Gluten free products, hand-made dog treats, vegan baked goods and cut flowers are some of the new additions residents can expect to see at the Kings Park Farmers Market this year.
Bernadette Martin, director for Friends and Farmers, said nut free products would be available as well as eggs and poultry and plan to continue donations to the local food pantry.
“We will be doing donations to the food pantry at St. Vincent de Paul on the second and last Sundays of the month,” said Martin. “We hope to do another book drive for the veterans.”
Along with donations made by the vendors, shoppers are encouraged to bring canned and non-perishable goods as well as fresh produce when the market organizes the donation.
The market will once again host live, local musicians and have more and tasting.
Musicians interested in playing the market should contact the Kings Park Civic Association.
The market, which is set up in the municipal parking lot on Main Street, will run on Sundays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. beginning June 24 until November 18.
