Event Spotlight: The 4th Annual 5K Sunset Run/Walk and 1K Summer Fun Run for Kids

On Saturday, run for your health, run for fun, run for a cause.

 

The 4th Annual Nissequogue River State Park Foundation 5K Sunset Run/Walk and 1K Summer Fun Run for Kids will be held Saturday, June 9th.   

The run attracts people from all across Long Island and proceeds will be used to help enhance and beautify the .

Along with the run, there will be free food, beverages and live entertainment by classic rock artist Mike Taylor.

This year’s course runs from , north to St.Johnland Road, east on St. Johnland Road to the entrance of Tiffany Field, around the soccer field to the bike trail, exit to Old Dock Road to St. Joseph's Church parking lot, and finish at the middle school.

Complimentary gift and t- shirt will be given to pre-registrants.

Walkers, wheelchairs and baby strollers are welcome.

When: Saturday, June 9th. The Summer Fun Run begins at 5:00 PM and the Sunset Run kicks off at 5:30 PM.

Where: The event will take place at the William T. Roger's Middle School, 97 Old Dock Road, Kings Park.

Time: Early check-in and registration will be held on Friday June 8th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 44 Church Street, Kings Park.

Cost: The registration fee for the Sunset Run is $20 pre-registration and $25 on the day of the run. The Summer Fun Run fee is $10 for pre-registration and on the day of the event.

Why: To enjoy a great run, while helping beautify the Nissequogue River State Park.
