Each and every year at Patch, we tell the stories of those who have gone above and beyond. Community members who have done something remarkable or put others before themselves. 

In 2013, there are four stories that we hope will bring a smile to your face and inspire you in the year ahead: 

Girl's Card Touches Hearts at Kings Park Veterans Day Parade
A young girl at the Kings Park Veterans Day Parade touched a few hearts when she approached Al Mlodynia, the commander of the Nissequogue Veterans of Foreign War Post 5796, after the parade to give him a special homemade card. 

Old Glory Back Where She Belongs
Kings Pack Pack 75 held several fundraiser to purchase an American Flag to replace the one at Kings Park High School after thieves stole. 

Youth Group's Donations Help Build New Softball Dugouts
Kings Park Youth Athletic Association donated $3,000 and their own time to help turn two concrete slabs on the high school varsity girl's softball field into dugouts for the 2014 season. 

Kings Park Students Deliver Donations to Toys for Tots
Kings Park students and the community have found a way to make others holidays a little brighter by donating to the U.S. Marine Reserves Toys for Tots.
