Weekly Planner: Community Thanksgiving Service, Monster Bash

Here's what's happening in and around Kings Park this week.

Community Thanksgiving Service

Join for prayers and hymns of Thanksgiving at the 15th Annual Community Thanksgiving Worship shared by Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, Lucien Memorial United Methodist Church and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church featuring combined choirs from all congregations. A free-will offering will be collected for local food pantries. Monday, 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church.

Park View Monster Mash Bash

Don't forget your costumes for the Park View Monster Mash and Turkey Bash which has been re-scheduled for Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30 at the high school. Tickets are still available.

Smithtown Planning Board 
The Smithtown Board of Zoning Appeals will be holding their second meeting of November at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eugene Cannataro Senior Citizen Center. Check Patch later this week for full details on their agenda.

Smithtown Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The Library Board of Trustees holds meetings every month. Hear the board discuss the important issues facing the library. Minutes will be available on the website after the meetings. Tuesday, 7 p.m. at the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Library District.

Thanksgiving Morning at St. Therese Shrine

The Little Way of St. Therese Shrine will be holding St. Therese Shrine on Thanksgiving Day between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. to make a prayer request, light a candle and pray for those less fortunate. There will be acollection of canned foods to distribute to local charities for Hurricane Sandy.

Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!
