Weekend Planner: Film Festival, Live Music and Kayaking

Now in its 17th year, the festival typically draws film lovers from all over Long Island to Stony Brook University's . Will you be among them? There are two ways to enjoy the Stony Brook Film Festival: buy a 10-day pass ($80), or buy tickets to individual films ($7–$9). As of Tuesday morning, 10-day passes are still available.

Kayak For A Cause will be holding their annual fundraiser that brings kayakers and their favorite charities together to help raise money for causes that focus on ways to protect the environment and community. Kayak For A Cause will start in Long Island where paddlers will paddle 13 miles across the Long Island sound to Shady Beach in Norwalk, CT.
Saturday, 10 a.m. Huntington beaches and marina and Crab Meadow Beach.

The music continues Friday evening as presents its fifth concert of the season.

All Good Friends, a group of eight men and women will fill Main Street with the sounds of rock, pop and Broadway as they take to Russ Savatt Park at 7:30 p.m.

 Arts & Crafts, food, music, pony rides, children's activities and more. Cool off in the air-conditioned mansion with crafts for kids in the dining room or tour the restored farmhouse.  Deepwells Farms on Rt 25A in St. James, Saturday and Sunday.
