Video: Groundbreaking Ceremony at Kings Park Library

Construction begins on Kings Park as Commack branch officially opens.

The Kings Park branch of the Smithtown Special Library Distict officially broke ground last Friday. Rev. Sean Gann opened the ceremony with a blessing. Town supervisor Patrick Vecchio was on hand as well as Legis. Lynne Nowick and the library board. Chamber of Commerce President Charlie Gardner spoke eloquently about the need for libraries and the role the library plays in Kings Park's downtown.

Library Director Rober Lusack thanked the people of Kings Park for their patience in waiting for the renovation to begin. The renovation is expected to take close to a year and will include an expanded children's section as well as a new elevator.
