VFW Hall Hosts Community Meal

Local residents, businesses with power offer pot-luck style meal Sunday to those without.

A pot-luck style meal will be put on today at the VFW Hall on Church Street for those who are still without power.

The meal will be provided by neighbors and businesses who have power. Ciro's, Andersons, Park Bake shop, Edelweiss, Short Stop Pizza, Martino's, Bella Cucina, and Keyfood are all helping out to donate food or supplies. The Junior Catholic Daughters have offered to come serve.

"We want to reach out to everyone with no power and offer a warm meal, friendship, the chance to recharge your phone and recharge your spirit," said Michelle Stein, one of the many who are helping to organize the meal.

Please help spread the word, as many still do not have power. Those who have  power and want to contribute,  donations such as food, sweets, drinks, paper goods and plasticware are welcome.

The community meal begins at 3 p.m. Sunday at the VFW Hall on Church Street.

To be so rude in this time of need is outrageous and you really should take a look into yourself and find happiness., I couldnt even sleep until I packed black garbage bags filled with blankets, batteries, thermal cloths, I bought down cases of water , batteries and made 6 lbs of baked ziti with peas and I still will love to much more, this town Rocks and People are caring and stick together!

Drew; I personally would like to say if you cannot say something nice, don't say anything at all. This town is pulling together, supporting each other, and I call it home. Feel free to relocate. It is rude and negative people like yourself who bring us down. Michelle Stein definitely rocks, and there are many others who deserve our thanks.
