5 Things to Do on A Beautiful Day

Don’t let it pass you by.

Mother Nature has handed us a gift, Thursday is going to be a beauty. Warm weather and clear skies will make it feel more like May than March. So what’s a Kings Parker to do? We’ve got a few ideas.

  • Breathe in the salty air; gaze out onto the water and head down to the boardwalk at Sunken Meadow State Park. Whether you take a morning stroll and afternoon walk or an evening run, you are sure to see some neighbors there.
  • Take your pet for a walk at Charles P. Toner Park in Nesconset. The dog walk trail starts near the bathrooms buildings, at the top of the path leading down to the Nesconset gazebo. The dirt path is approximately 20 yards into the woods and runs parallel to the paved asphalt trail for runners and joggers.
  •  Check out Raleigh’s Farm for some fresh, organic produce. Wander through the country store and grab some fresh eggs or pick up some chicken for the grill. Customers are encouraged to bring their children, who can visit the farm’s little friends. When you pull up to the store, you are greeted by honking geese, Elmo the goat and several of his friends.
  • Dust off your clubs and visit Indian Head Golf Park. This 300 yard driving range is complete with fifty lighted stalls, a sand trap, a chipping area and a putting green.

Apparently you are not the only one this is happening to. From what I understand if these signs areRead More on a main drag somehow they are disappearing in the middle of the night. Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!
