Art Exhibition

Exhibition juror James Henry Rubin’s exhibit call for entries noted that reflection be either a physical or a psychological phenomenon. Together they evoke the interplay between perception and conception. He selected 42 artists for the exhibition, which will include 68 artworks in a wide variety of media including watercolor, oil, charcoal, bronze, archival prints, mixed media sculpture and more. Includes work by Kings Park artist, Pamela Waldroup.

Children In Change

Children in Change focuses on youth with changing family dynamics. This could include divorce, parents in jail, drug and alcohol dependencies, remarriage, homelessness, etc. The target audience is middle school students.

“We want a safe place where children can express themselves and find they're not the only ones going through change in their family,” stated Lindsay Sommeso, the Community Relations Specialist and co-leader of the new program. She and Rebecca Maier, a second semester Stonybrook Graduate Student, will be holding the program in the Community Room of the Horizons building located at 161 E. Main Street, Smithtown on Mondays for one-hour long sessions. Participants should use the community room entrance in the back of the building. Monday, 4 p.m.
