State Parks Deputy Director to Lay Out Park Plans at Chamber Meeting

Overview will be given on Sunken Meadow and Nissequogue Parks.

Brian Foley, Deputy Director for the Long Island Region of State Parks will be  guest speaker at the Kings Park’s Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on Wednesday afternoon.

Foley will present an update and overview of plans for Sunken Meadow State Park and Nissequogue River State Park.

recently received $3.5 million to rehabilitate the bathhouse and make emergency services improvements as part of a project called New York State Works, designed to reinvent state economic development by rebuilding the state's infrastructure.

$14 million in funds was allocated to Nissequogue River State Park and is money that was secured by State Sen. John Flanagan. The funds are being used for the demolition of vacant and condemned buildings that are part of the park and former Kings Park Psychiatric Hospital.

The luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the on Church Street.
