Kings Park Grad Chosen By Dems as Supervisor Candidate

Smithtown Democrats have announced they've chosen a political newcomer from Nesconset to run for town supervisor this November.

Newsday reports Steven Snair, 31, received the party's nomination for Smithtown Supervisor on Wednesday, after going through a screening process with the town's democratic committee on Tuesday night. He will go up against incumbent Supervisor Patrick Vecchio and Republican challenger Robert Creighton.

This will be Snair's first campaign for public office. He believes the town should make a master plan for redeveloping Smithtown's business districts and expressed concern about young families being able to afford living in the area.

Snair graduated from Kings Park High School in 1999 and LIU Post in 2004. He is a lawyer whose practice specializes in foreclosures and landlord-tenant disputes with a law degree from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pa.
