People are animals. I hope this poor man did not suffer too much. There are no more morals in this world. Everyone is out for themselves. The b--ard that hit him was probably drunk or drugged and feared for themselves-they could of at least had someone else call 911 for them. I hate 98% of people. Hope they catch them and they pay-Kieran was someone's child. May he rest in Peace.

I am heartbroken reading this. I was driving out East early Sunday morning about 10 minutes to 8 and saw 2 cop cars on the service road with a car off to the shoulder. I then saw a man's single black sneaker in the middle of the road. As I approached, I didn't know what to expect and then I saw you on the side of the road. That image will stay with me for a very long time. You sweet boy, you didn't deserve this. May you rest in peace and my prayers go out to your family.

Kieran you will be missed by all. I hope to god they find this bastard that took you from us because he/she had to be selfish and not even call 911 Unanimously to report it. Hopefully he/she will get the KARMA they deserve for doing this to you. Why do Good People Always Die Young? You will be missed by ALL and Never Forgotten. And to whoever is responsible for taking you from us I hope the same happens to them and nobody reports it, and the guilt haunts them their ENTIRE LIFE!

Hit and runs seem more prevalent these days, sadly. Cameras, cameras & cameras needed almost everywhere, 'specially the roadways on gridlocked Long Island. The crisis has gotten to that point.

Sharon I saw this incident as I was exiting off the Kings Park exit to my sons baseball game. It was very shocking to see a person lying on the road. The police arrived as we were trying to exit. I pray the the person who hit Mr. Smith turns himself/herself into the Authorities. I I pray for the Smith family as well. May he rest in peace.

Kierin was my nephew's best friend through school. He was always such a gentleman at my house - always please and thank you. Such a wonderful boy. I really hope they catch the person who did this. We all need to know that person will not go unpunished for taking away such a promising young man.

Hi! I am reading this and cant hold back tears. I was also driving by that morning at about that time and I cannot stop thinking of Kieran. I drive past that spot everyday to drive my 3 year old twins to school and say a prayer everyday for him and his family. I said prayer that morning as i drove by and I think about it everyday - as a mom, sister etc. I cannot imagine! My heart goes out to his family.
