PHOTOS: Nissequogue River State Park Sunset Run

Gray skies cleared to blue as runners took their place in Saturday's annual event.

 

Cloudy skies cleared to sun on Saturday, just as the first of over 500 registered runners and walkers arrived for the Nissequogue River State Park Foundation’s 4th Annual Sunset Run.

The event was filled with family fun including live entertainment, free food and drink and giveaways.

Cash prizes were awarded to the top three overall male and female winners of the 5K run. All participants of the 1K Fun Run received a ribbon.

Sponsors for event included the Reichert Family, IGA Fort Salonga and Larkfield Supermarkets and Bethpage Federal Credit Union.  Volunteers from the Kings Park Soccer Club, Kings Park Youth, Kings Park Civic Association, San Remo Civic Association, Knights of Columbus, and the Kings Park Fire Department helped make the event a success.
