Local Eateries Take Part in LI Restaurant Week

Residents can eat a prix-fixed, three-course dinner for $24.95 at nearly 250 restaurants.

Foodies can eat their hearts out as the sixth annual Long Island Restaurant Week is in full swing from Nov. 6 to Nov. 13.

During the week of Nov. 6, nearly 250 restaurants throughout Nassau and Suffolk County will be offering a special three-course, prix-fixed menu for $24.95. The price includes appetizer, entrée and dessert.

“We have 247 restaurants participating. It’s an increase from past years,” said Tara Berkoski, speaking for organizer WordHampton.

Berkoski said the increase in the number of participating restaurants is in part due to the economy, as restaurants attempt to draw in new customers.  There are 181 returning restaurants who have participated in a previous Long Island Restaurant Week. 42 new eateries have signed on to this year’s promotion.

“It’s the most we’ve ever seen returning. Restaurants who have done this in the past have see what a good promotion it is for them,” Berkoski said.
