Some residential streets can feel like busy highways if they're frequently used as cut-throughs, and can pose a danger to unsuspecting pedestrians. In Kings Park, Rose Street has been mentioned as a short cut from Landing Avenue and 25A, though there are many others concerning locals.
What do you think are some of the most highly used and least appropriate cut through streets in Kings Park and the surrounding area? What threats do they pose and how do you think traffic could be better managed or avoided?

Old Dock Road to St Johnland is a very popular detour to & from Smithtown, or to Fort Salonga.
Meadow Glen Road/Orchard Rd-Pulaski end. There are stop signs just before Pulaski on this 3 way intersection. They are for the most part ignored, as indicated by the terrible accident this summer killing a 3 year old boy. A light is needed on Pulaski road/Meadow Glen. Secondary: When the VA Hospital lets out 4ish in afternoon they cut thru Orchard Rd to get to Pulaski, avoiding the Bread & Cheese Hollow Rd light. Orchard is a quiet road otherwise, and kids and animals are used to that, but at 4:00 its a deathtrap.
