Game On: Local Pubs and Grub For Super Bowl Sunday

Kings Park is packed with game day food and fun.

While fans may not agree on team choices, most everyone can agree on food. As Giants fans gear up for game day, local restaurants and caterers are gearing up for a little extra business.

Mike Franchi, owner of Andersen’s Catering and Dixie’s Smokehouse says things typically quiet down for Dixie’s after the Super Bowl.

“Summer business is great and we stay busy pretty much until Super Bowl and then things sort of quiet down,” said Franchi.

The restaurant offers a few different catering packages and of course, the mother of game food, wings.

Dave Hennings, owner of Edelweiss Delicatessen says he sees a lot of catering for the big game.

“Our customers swear by our heroes, they say they are the best in town,” said Hennings.

He also happens to be a lifelong Patriot fan, unless, he says they are playing the Giants. For them, he says, he is all in.

Plum Crazy Kitchen will offer a wing special along with catering packages, which you can pick up the day of the game, but he says it is best to call ahead.

If you are headed out, The Park Lounge, Past Times and Shannahan's will all be offering game day specials.

$12 pitchers of Yuengling, $15 pitchers of Bluepoint Toasted Lager. $5 wing specials, $3 NY Stadium Pretzels, $1 Giant touchdown shots.

2 Italian heroes, 20 wings and 1 large pie, $39.99. for pick up. 40 wings for $27 80 wings for $53. Italian and American heroes for $12.95 per foot. Call ahead.

Super Bowl Party Package. Three foot party hero, 5 pounds of chicken wings and a beer mini-keg for $99. Add $9 for a chicken cutlet, roasted peppers and mozzarella hero.

$14 domestic buckets, $17.50 bucket of imports.

Past Times Bar and Grill_

Free buffet, 50-cent wings, two-fers domestic draft, and shots for every Giants touchdown. Watch the game on a 100-inch screen TV and 8 high definition TVs.

Several catering packages. Wings in 20, 40, 60 and 80 piece sizes. Expecting a big crowd? Try the Touchdown package, which includes three racks of ribs, two pounds of pulled pork, two pounds of barbeque beef brisket, two whole rotisserie chicken, five pints of sides, cornbread, Texas toast and twelve mini rolls. Apparently you are not the only one this is happening to. From what I understand if these signs areRead More on a main drag somehow they are disappearing in the middle of the night. Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!

I just saw this dog running down sunken meadow rd. on Monday afternoon around 4:45. We tried callingRead More it but it ran into the st. johnland nursing home and wouldn't come to me when I tried calling it over. It looks like a shepherd mix and seems a little frightened.
