Event Spotlight: Community Quilt Squares Fundraiser

Eye-catching "quilt" will be displayed at Nissequogue River State Park Administration Building.

Adults and children will have the opportunity to express their creativity, inspirations and individuality by contributing to the Nissequogue River State Park Foundation’s Second Annual Community Quilt Squares Fundraiser to help enhance and beautify the park.

The theme of the quilt is, What Inspires You? You don’t have to be able to sew to help create this “quilt” – although you can if you want to. Consisting of plain white 8”x 8” prefabricated cloth squares, children and adults can create a unique artwork by painting, sewing, or gluing anything that can be adhered to the pieces. The squares will then be tied together by members of the Foundation to create an eye-catching display that will hang in the Lobby Museum area and Conference Room of the Nissequogue River State Park Administration Building between May 4 and June 30.
