Evening Train Restored to Kings Park

After being cut in 2010, a weekday train stopping in Kings Park around 6:30 p.m. will be restored, according to the MTA.

After a fare hike recently went into effect on the Port Jefferson branch of the Long Island Rail Road – as well as many others – the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced recently that an evening eastbound line would be restored.

The 5:12 p.m. weekday train from Hunterspoint Avenue to Port Jefferson will be back on the schedule, according to the MTA, after it was cut in 2010 among a slate of other cuts systemwide.

The train will stop in Kings Park at 6:29 p.m. before arriving in Port Jefferson at 7 p.m.
