According to a report on Newsday, National Salvage & Service Corp, of Bloomington Indiana, has not hired local demolition workers.
Local subcontractors, according to the story, have been hired for nondemolition work. has been set up for the public to monitor the process of the project.
State Sen. John Flanagan said in the story that the project should be hiring local help.
“Particularly if they come from out of state, they should be hiring local workers,” said Flanagan. “They should be almost exclusively from Long Island. It’s a Long Island project.”
