A Winter Storm Warning is in Effect for the Kings Park Area

More snow is on the way with higher accumulations than last week's storm.

Another winter storm is expected to hit Long Island according to the National Weather Service in Upton, NY. A winter storm warning is in effect from 7pm Tuesday evening until 6pm Wednesday evening.

Heavy snow is expected with possible accumulations of seven and fourteen inches and wind gusts of 25-35 miles per hour. The  heaviest snow will occur after midnight Tuesday and  continue into early Wednesday morning.

Local weather blogger Matt Hammer is anticipating about eight to twelve inches of snow  for Long Island with snow tapering off to snow showers by Wednesday afternoon. According to Hammer, the storm is expected to be a relatively quick storm as far as heavy snow accumulation.
