The Real Silent Killer

Many people are chasing symptoms instead of looking to eliminate the cause of dis-ease, the silent killer within that they never knew existed.

It seems to me that more and more people these days are frequenting holistic practitioners to improve their health.  They are seeking massage thereapists, accupuncturists, taking yoga classes, eating healthier, eliminating allergies with N.A.E.T., and going to the chiropractor, just to name a few.  In these days of high stress, its so important to seek out inner peace and well-being. This is just a tid-bit of information that may help you gain awareness about what can keep you from obtaining that inner peace and well-being.  As Einstein said, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.  My goal is to inform you of the insanity that may exist in your body that can eventually kill you and you might never know its there.

We all know that our nervous system controls every function in our body.  For your lungs to breath or your heart to beat or your stomach to digest, you need a nerve to communicate that command from your brain.  Also, your immune system, reproductive system, and musculoskeletal system rely on nerve messages from the brain.  Imagine for a moment that you had an injury that severed the nerve to your heart.  What do you think would happen?  Now, imagine that same heart nerve being connected, but with a big clamp squeezing down on it.  It's like a kink in a garden hose.  Messages from the brain would still flow through it, but at a rate much less than normal.  How healthy do you think your heart would be if  the nerve to it was being compressed or squeezed? What about the nerves to your immune system being squeezed? Don't you think you might get sick more often if this were the case? There is a condition that exists in your body when a vertebra (back bone) shifts out of its normal alignment with the surrounding vertebrae and does exactly what I described above, pinches or severely irritates the spinal nerves.  It is called a subluxation.

The problem is that we are a symptom oriented society.  We think if we have a symptom we are sick and if we don't have a symptom, we are healthy.  Health is defined as being in a state of well-being, not merely free from symptoms.  Everyone knows a fever is a natural mechanism to kill infection, but we want to get rid of it as soon as possible because we feel bad, on the contrary, you could be suffering from heart disease or cancer and not even know it and think you're fine. So, who is sick here? The person experiencing symptoms of a healthy reaction, or the person who feels fine but is certainly in trouble?  The Subluxation is known as the root cause to dis-ease in the body.  When the nerves are interfered with, communication between the brain and body is interrupted thus causing chaos in the body.  If this communication is left interrupted, then the body goes into a state of dis-ease which leads to a disease process and eventually symptoms and early death.  Most people don't know they have a subluxation nor have they ever heard of it before that's whay they are called the "Silent Killer".

Stress causes subluxations.  Physical, chemical, and emotional stress.  Anyone can get them and at any age too.  You dont have to feel subluxations either.  Once present in the spine, subluxations can only be properly corrected through chiropractic care.  In conjunction with spinal adjustments (chiropractic care) all of the other holistic approaches I mentioned earlier work together to help maintain a healthy state rather than constantly treating the symptoms and expecting health to come of that (insanity).  There is so much more to share with you on this subject, but this blog has gotten too long as it is.  Please feel free to comment as you see fit and I will do my best to give you the most accurate and up to date information as is possible.

Yours in health,
